Life may have kept pushing the piano further down your list. Now you can learn properly, without putting the rest of your life on hold.
We’ll build a solid foundation while making room for the music you enjoy, with patient guidance, clear direction and lessons shaped around your goals.
Learn technique through making music.
Over 30+ years of experience helping students discover the joy of music.
You may have wanted to learn for years, but work, family and everyday life kept getting in the way.
Maybe you’ve tried before. Perhaps you used an app or followed online lessons and learned to find the right notes, but the playing still felt stiff, disconnected or somehow not like music.
Or you may simply feel unsure about where to start, what to practise, or whether you’re making real progress.
Maybe you worry that you’re starting too late or that you don’t have enough time to make the lessons worthwhile.
Learning the piano shouldn’t leave you feeling frustrated, rushed or unsure what to do next.
You don’t just want to hit the right keys. You want to understand what you’re doing and feel the music while you’re playing it.
You don’t learn the piano just to master technique. You learn technique so you can make music.
That’s why lessons are built around the music you want to play, while developing the skills you need along the way. We’ll work on reading music, rhythm, coordination, technique, theory and whatever else helps you reach your musical goals.
You’ll also get guidance on how to practise, so you know what to work on between lessons and why it matters.
And because you’re learning with a teacher who can hear and see what you’re doing, we can make adjustments in the moment—things an app or video simply can’t notice.
The goal isn’t to play perfectly. It’s to become more connected to what you hear, what you play and how it feels.
Personalised lessons tailored to your goals so you can learn the music that matters to you, making your time at the piano feel meaningful rather than like another task on your list.
Flexible scheduling that fits real life so you can keep learning even when work, family or other commitments change, instead of putting your musical goals on hold.
A clear plan for what to practise so you know what to work on between lessons and can make steady progress without wondering whether you’re practising the right things.
And over time, something bigger happens: the piano becomes more than an instrument you’re learning to play. It becomes part of a richer life through music.
Tell me what you’d like to learn, what music you enjoy and what you’re hoping to get from piano lessons.
Gain clarity and confidence.
We’ll talk more about your goals and musical experience, and you’ll experience a real lesson. This gives us both a chance to see where you are and what could help you move forward.
Discover the best path forward.
If you decide to continue, we’ll build your skills step by step, with lessons that fit your life and room for the music you want to play.
Turn your dream into reality.
„He tailors the lessons entirely to the student’s needs-reagardings musical style as well as skills and theory.“
„He is very patient with me, and I have learned a lot in a short time.“
„Highly professional without ever stiff or overly strict“
„I have never learned so much, so quickly, in any other piano lesson – and I had so much fun doing it, too“
Learn on a Steinway grand piano in a bright, acoustically designed studio overlooking the Eifel. A place where learning music feels inspiring, not like another appointment in your week.
Learn from a professional pianist and composer who still performs. You get practical musical experience that goes beyond simply following a method book.
One-to-one lessons adapt to your pace, interests and goals. You can explore the music you love while building the solid foundations you need.
I’ll guide you towards what to learn next and adapt that path as you develop. You always know where you’re going without losing the freedom to explore.
You’ll get clear guidance about what to practise and how to use your available time. Even busy weeks can move you forward.
Choose lesson times that work with your life, without a long-term contract. Your piano lessons can fit around your life instead of the other way around.
Classical, pop, film music, blues, jazz, improvisation, playing by ear, arranging or composition can all become part of your journey. The goal is not simply to learn the piano, but to discover what you want to do with it.
Where useful, I’ll support your learning with method books, my own materials, audio and video recordings. You have something practical to return to between lessons.
Gabi started piano lessons with me when she was around 50. She didn’t want to become a professional pianist. She simply wanted to learn properly, build a solid foundation and enjoy playing as a hobby.
We’ve now been working together for around 10 years.
Over that time, we’ve played classical music, film music, pop, blues and a little jazz. We still work on the things that help her play with more ease and make the music sound better.
She has come a long way since she started.
Two years ago, I moved from Cologne to Nettersheim. I didn’t expect many of my students from Cologne to make the journey with me, especially by train.
Gabi still comes.
And that’s something I really appreciate. It’s a great honour to accompany someone for so many years and to see their development firsthand.
That’s one of the things I love most about teaching: seeing someone grow, become more comfortable at the piano and continue to enjoy making music.
After ten years, we’re still doing exactly that.
No. There is no age at which you are too old to learn the piano. You may learn differently as an adult than you would have as a child, but with patience and regular practice, you can make real progress and enjoy playing.
You already have the natural talent you need to learn the piano. Most people have an average level of musical ability, and that is more than enough to begin.
Only a few people have extraordinary talent. You don’t need to be one of them. Musicality develops through listening, curiosity, experience and practice.
That’s very common for adults. You don’t need hours every day. Regular practice, even in shorter sessions, can take you a long way. I’ll help you decide what is worth practising so that the time you have is used well.
Yes. Apps and videos can be useful for showing you what to play, but they can’t hear and see what you’re doing or help you understand how to play it musically. In individual lessons, we can work on the details that make the difference—rhythm, movement, sound, phrasing and musical understanding.
Then you’re certainly not the only one. Work, family and everyday life can easily push the piano into the background. You don’t need to wait for life to become less busy. We can find a sensible way to make music part of your life now.
